14 years (and still counting) of artwork for Houston’s strange and wonderful night time bicycle event.
The Moonlight Bicycle Ramble is one of Houston’s more peculiar events. It was started as a small group ride, founded by Joy Boone, owner of a bicycle shop near downtown. Today the ride attracts between one and two thousand riders, many in costume, on decorated bikes. The ride is typically twenty miles long, and the route changes every year snaking leisurely through Houston’s various inner loop neighborhoods.
The artwork for each year’s ride is a key component to attracting participants. It is used on posters, flyers and it is printed on the t-shirts that are given out to all the participating riders. I started creating the artwork for the rides in 2004 and I’ve created the artwork for every Moonlight Ramble since.
2017 marks the 45th Moonlight Ramble in Houston and it continues to the largest source of fundraising for BikeHouston helping it continue its mission to make Houston a vibrant and safe place for all riders.
